Senior Staff Test Engineer

Job Description

This position is for a Senior or Staff level test engineer to support testing NPI (New Product Introduction) products with NVM IP memory devices. We are seeking a hard-working, self-reliant individual, based in San Jose, CA., who is willing and motivated to contribute at a high level.

Responsibilities : Under guidance from the Test/Product manager, the test engineer will

  • Create and update characterization and logic scan test programs to debug high-density, high-performance flash devices during the initial phases of NPI (New Product Introduction).

  • Develop and sustain production test programs for automated test systems on mature NOR Flash Memory products.

  • Work with the Quality and Reliability group to support JEDEC product test criteria.

  • Initiate and guide hardware development, including design, acquisition, validation, and qualification of interface boards.

  • Work with design, product, and foundry engineers to develop product test procedures, gather and analyze data, and characterize device functionality.

  • Interface with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and maintenance provider

  • Work with in-house hardware engineer or outside vendor to design prototype test load board, sockets.

  • Apply lab results and analysis to implement effective and cost-efficient mass production solutions.

  • Work with local and all Asian Foundries and test facilities to resolve manufacturing problems (which may include some travel.)

Qualifications

  • Minimum BSEE/BSCS or related field; advanced degree in a science field is preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of semiconductor memory test experience is required.

  • Proficiency in C++ or similar high-level language is required; experience with lower-level coding is a plus.

  • Previous work using and programming memory test systems (e.g. Nextest, Advantest, Verigy, Teradyne, etc.) is preferred.

  • Experience with lab bench equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication in English.

  • This is an on-site position.

Additional Information

The expected annual pay range for this position is $151K - $227K. This position is also eligible for STI bonus opportunities and commission pay. Please note that the final offer amount will be dependent on the geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
